What we are reluctant to touch often seems the very fabric of our salvation

About me & a personal vision

It is time to revolutionize therapy. As more of us are realizing that it is just as necessary to provide healing energy to our minds and hearts the way it is our physical bodies, we are looking for therapists who are not only on board with modern perspective and approaches to healing that are spiritual, holistic and informed by cultural movements/moments, but who are also on the journey themselves.

i always felt, deep down, something wasn’t right with the pace, tone, and confinement of westernized culture, but until i truly KNEW this, like so many others, i blamed myself for my suffering while simultaneously having no idea how to take true, balanced responsibility to live a fulfilling life.

while i whole-heartedly believe in following one’s dreams and accomplishing life goals, a lot of us know based on experience that accolades on the surface and “success” in the conventional sense have very little to do with inner peace and existential wholeness, or how a person is REALLY doing.

while on the surface things seemed “okay,” for many years i privately struggled with an eating disorder, addictive habits, and eventually this manifested in chronic illness. the roots of this started at home, but also from peer abuse (bullying) that occurred in grade school and got so bad that i was pulled out and put into a different school in 9th grade.

through quality, relational therapeutic healing of my own, transformational mentors, teachers, and mystical/spiritual exploration through my Jewish lineage, yoga, community, and intuitive/feminist based approaches to living, i am on a journey of continuously breaking free of the limiting patterns of generations past and live beyond recovery.

SO HOW DID I RECOVER?

when i discovered the work of embodiment (through Somatic Experiencing by Peter Levine), the work of Gabor Mate, Mark Wolynn, Stephen Gilligan, and Kristin Neff, everything changed. it was a huge turning point because while i had studied family science and systems in undergrad, practiced yoga, and practiced meditation trying to make sense of my own upbringing (in a very loud Jewish family with a long history of trauma), i still hadn’t understood the role of my history in my everyday life and the way it was hijacking my experience of the present moment.

when i started studying the nervous system, attachment, and the neuroscience of trauma through my later studies on adult mental health and wellness in grad school, and myself was a participant in a DBT mindfulness study + a Somatic Experiencing client, i discovered how my family history (impacted by culture and social/political systems) affected my physiology, literal tissues/cells, and then personal choices, beliefs, and relationship to the world in the present moment.

once i discovered the compelling research on epigenetics, attachment science, and the neuroscience of trauma, i couldn’t stop. the journey to being a therapist and yoga practitioner/guide has helped me understand and integrate the role that developmental trauma has played in my own life, increased my capacity for intimacy and aliveness, has helped me heal addictive habits, and taken me on a profoundly meaningful journey of everyday life grounded in spirituality and mindfulness. (i’ve always had a profound fascination with human behavior, relationships, and consciousness, which also helps!).

my life’s work is to help people in their healing journey through a holistic lens that incorporates nutrition, physiology, nervous system work, mindset, and more.

WHAT I’M UP TO!

i am a student and teacher of yoga, an amateur DJ (love Anjunadeep!), a non-fiction writer, and a passionate reader/scholar. i deeply enjoy mysticism, spending time with plants, and diving deep into electronic music. i also love a good psychological thriller and any mind-blowing documentaries..

i strive to live in service to our collective healing, sense of belonging, and wholeness. supporting people in relating more compassionately with themselves and finding their inner compass as they heal from personal, intergenerational, and cultural trauma is what guides me in my work.

my social justice values guide me into a tough, necessary, and expansive exploration into the impact of my inherited history, identity, privilege, oppression, and gender.

i’m passionate about our innate capacity to heal from trauma and the resilience of the human spirit. i am also especially passionate about the potential of both psychedelic and non-psychoactive plants for healing from physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. i strive to live and work intuitively, and support others to do the same; allowing the cues of our bodies and nature to move us creatively in business and life.

i am an advocate of radical compassion, collective healing, reparenting, and I am a HUGE feeler, a highly sensitive person, and care deeply about our shared humanity and tending the inner soil that makes us both cosmic and human.

professionally, i practice existential, integrative, body-based and relational psychotherapy, offer business consultation for prospective therapists, and support The Relational Center’s vision and mission. i also offer organizational breathwork consultation and facilitate online courses a couple times a year.

i envision a society in which access to the tools and communities that help us come into reciprocal relationship with our planet, bodies, and each other is accessible and abundant.

i hope i have the chance to get to connect with you if you’ve gotten this far! please head over to the contact page if you’d like to work with me as an aspiring therapist for business consultation, as a business for organizational breathwork and support for your professional community, as a couple or individual for psychotherapy, or for any other inquiries. i look forward to hearing from you!
